Keep a sharp eye on these ‘kids’

Tonight the Master Plan Steering Committe will be holding its first public hearing.

6:30 in City Hall in the Auditorium.

This will be mostly to introduce the concept, what the game plan will be and how public input can be made.

Knowing the players; leaving this bunch to formulate the Master Plan for our future, without public input in the process, is like giving a Glock semi-automatic pistol to a bunch of 8 year olds!

Each of them will have their own idea how to shape it based on wildly divergent ideologies and from their educational and professional background.

If left to themselves, the process will not produce a quality product, nor will it serve to move Newburyport into a bright future.

Nor do they wish it to be that way!       The public must be engaged or it will suffer the fate of so many past Master Plans – shelved and useless.        This committee knows the history.

I know so many are weary of these continual meetings but this one is vital to attend.

I know I am weary!       But I’m going to be there – in spite of my ‘friends’ on Route 95 & 128.

Please join me.

Terrific. I have another commitment this evening. I do hope that historical preservation will be included in this master plan. There should be an LHD. Good luck, give ’em hell, PP!
