Bloggers are back…and filling in the blanks

I was always told that the first step of a journalist was to fulfill the five W’s and one H:  who, what, when, where, why, and how.      Yet, increasingly, our local regional papers are so financially strapped and space restricted, they refuse to do the basics.

Especially on major issues – people have questions and they would love nothing better than to receive some basic answers.

That is where bloggers fit in.        Whether it’s Cameron, Cronin, Eaton, Herzog, Salemi or others; they do a great service to our local community by filling in the information that is missing.

My only gripe is the intermittence of many bloggers.       Our local community would be much poorer if we did not have these vital sources –

please enrich us by your humble words! (mixing in some facts and news would go along way to reinforcing that humility)(And do it more than once a month, please!)
