Some things to note for this weekend

If a picture is worth 10,000 words, then a video is worth a million.      The quality is a bit grainy but considering how old this video is – it’s not bad!      Newburyport: A Measure of Change will be airing on PortMedia, Channel Ten at 6:30 PM on Sunday.        Pull up an easy chair and cook up some popcorn – but it will be a confusing time between laughing at the 70’s haircuts and gasping at how bad Newburyport looked in 1974.    PortMedia is planning on airing this periodically just to remind the ________ __ ___ ___ that we were not always the affluent and beautiful place that we are now and to remind those who think we will naturally stay affluent that it could all look this way again.

On a brighter note,

Newbury is having their traditional bonfire this Saturday evening.      Great crowds have come out and they are asking for anyone with an old Christmas Tree (natural of course) to help contribute toward the conflagration.    One note: there will be parking provided but the fee is $5/car.         With winter actually here, this is a great excuse for bundling up and coming out for a good time!
