I just read in the Daily News the Mayor wants more money for sidewalks.
I urge the City Council to do the work of a true representative of the people and refuse to issue out this money until we see a plan produced. The City Council should hold public hearings so we the citizens can put some input in and properly have the ‘Plan’ sufficiently vetted so it actually helps the City instead of wasting tax dollars!
How about taking the ‘Rubber Stamp Hat’ off and do what supposedly you job is, which is to represent the people.
In our Old Charter, the Mayor has a lot of power and before we get the New Charter in 2013 in which the Mayor gets more power; the City Council needs to learn how to put some checks and balances into city government and put some brakes on the infrastructure spending spree.
